MIA 1 campgrounds bring together 17 camping locations in Murrumbidgee Valley National Park's first irrigation-area precinct. They lie along the river near Narrandera and Yanco.
Fish or kayak where conditions are suitable, and use the official map to select the correct access track. Confirm current river and road conditions before travel.

Getting there
All roads within Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area 1 (MIA 1) are unsealed. 4WD vehicles are recommended when wet. Campervans/RVs are permitted in this area, however not all campgrounds suit these types of vehicles. There are 2 entrances into Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area 1 (MIA 1). If you’re coming from Narrandera: Travel 11km along the Irrigation Way on your way to Yanco township. Turn left onto Grahams Grave Road. Follow the unsealed road for 3km into Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area 1 (MIA 1). If you’re coming from Yanco: Travel 4km along the Irrigation Way on your way to Narrandera township. Turn right onto Forest Drive. Follow the unsealed road for 100m into Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area 1 (MIA 1). There are no rubbish collection points. Please take all rubbish when you leave.
Things to know
- Check booking requirements and current NPWS park alerts before travelling.
- Pets are not permitted; certified assistance animals are excepted.
- Campfires are permitted April to September, subject to current NPWS fire restrictions.
